Healthy Paws Pet Insurance will not pay for costs associated with or resulting from the following:

Veterinary Examination and Preventative Care
Office visit fee
Veterinary examination fees
Spaying and neutering
Preventive healthcare (vaccinations, titer test)
Flea control
Heartworm medication
Deworming
Nail trim and grooming
Parasite control
Dental health care (excluding injury to teeth caused by accidents)
Bilateral Conditions
Including pre-existing cruciate ligament problems in one leg affecting the cost of future treatment for the other leg
Elective Procedures
Cosmetic procedures
Tail docking
Ear cropping
Declawing
Micro-chipping
Dew claw removal
Ear cleaning
Age-related Exclusions
For pets 6 years of age or greater on the date of enrollment, no coverage for illness related to hip dysplasia
Activity-related Conditions
Conditions arising from a specific activity if the same or a similar activity occurred prior to the pet policy effective date and displayed the propensity for the activity to recur and cause injury or illness to your pet
Preventive Healthcare Implementation
Claims arising from the lack of use and/or implementation of preventive healthcare products and/or methods when such products and/or methods would be per generally accepted veterinary standards.
Routine healthcare includes vaccinations, spay and neuter, flea control, heartworm medication, deworming, dental care, ear plucking, grooming, and prudent regular care.
Breeding-related Conditions
Breeding or conditions relating to breeding, whelping, and queening
**A pre-existing condition means that the condition first occurred or showed clinical symptoms before your pet’s coverage started (or during waiting periods). The Healthy Paws pet insurance plan protects you against future conditions. See a sample policy for a complete list of exclusions.
Requirements of Policy Holders
The waiting period varies by state, see a sample policy for more information
Pet must be enrolled before the age of 6 years old for hip dysplasia coverage
The minimum enrollment age is 8 weeks, maximum enrollment age is 14 years***
In some states, your pet must have undergone a complete clinical examination within a defined time period prior to or shortly after enrollment – see your state-specific policy for details.

Claims
Healthy Paws Pet Insurance has an app you can use to submit your claims directly. Alternatively, you can fax, mail, email, or submit your claim form on the website with the invoice(s) within any time of the coverage period of your policy. Please note that medical records may be required to complete your pet’s first claim.

To cancel a Healthy Paws Pet Insurance policy, you can submit a cancellation request via fax, mail, email, or phone.

If you haven’t submitted a claim, you will receive a full refund when you cancel during the first 30 days of your policy.
